Earlier Sony was the sole leader of the said arena. The Sony’s HDR-UX1 AVCHD camcorder is now facing hard competition from other contenders. Canon has made a sound reputation in the camcorder market bi launching its consumer oriented HV10 camcorder, compact DC22 DVD camcorder and HDV camcorders XH G1 and XH A1. Panasonic also rolled out VDR-D400 DVD camcorder. We must not forget the world’s first DVD/HDD camcorder, Hitachi DZ-H303.
