We have a horde of waterproof cameras around us such as Fujifilm Quicksnap Marine, sexy wrist mounted camera, Sanyo Xacti HD1, Olympus Stylus 720 SW etc. Now, Pentax has joined the squad with their latest Optio W20 that is designed for underwater photography. Well, the thing that appeals to me is its form factor since it is packed in a sleek and dreary body design. It can survive easily upto a depth of 5 feet for 30 minutes incessantly. The another alluring feature is its new Blur Reduction High ISO mode and upgraded 7-megapixel camera to shoot crisp pictures. While Pentax has done proper justification with the Optio W20, I think, it should have been made shockproof too. Anyways, the Optio W20 will be out for sale in September 2006 with a price tag of around $300.
While the megapixel count still remains the same as of Xacti CA6, the new pocket camera from Sanyo, the Xacti DMX-CG6 boasts SDHC compatibility and support4GB for SD cards. The camera features a larger 2.5′ display for viewing and ISO 1600 in manual mode for photos. Moreover, you could transfer your videos and pics directly to an iPod. The new photo sensor is quite effective even in dim lighting conditions. No words on pricing and availability.

Sanyo and Panasonic have unleashed their latest line up of 3 pocket camcorders. 2 of the variants have got a ‘HD’ tag under their belt to boast. The Sanyo Xacti HD2 and Panasonic HDC-SD3 have got all those qualities that make them super high definition camcorders. The Xacti DMX-CG65 incorporates an SD slot. I guess the reviews will soon be out for sure. Via: Akihabaranews
Sanyo has now a new compact digital camera in its wardrobe. The new Xacti S70 is the successor to the older S60. There is nothing so special about the new shoot digicam except the 7-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD, 250 images battery life, and high-quality VGA video recording. Nothing impresses me so much as its sexy silver casing. No words on pricing or availability. Via: LetsGoDigital
