The new Sony HVR-V1U HDV camcorder carries the Sony’s legacy with its horde of features. The company claims the new beast to be one step ahead of the famed HDR-FX7 camcorder. The HDV revolution is on the swing and the HVR-V1U HDV delivers 24p footage at a higher resolution, very close to full HDTV.

The Sony HVR-V1U boasts a superior CMOS sensor, higher resolution and awe-inspiring video performance. Another prominent capability is the 1080p resolution. Other than the HDTV and XLR, the new camcorder integrates a HDMI port too.

Sony calls this a “hybrid recording system,” where you can shoot your master and archive at the same time. It is expected to be released in December for a price of $4800.
