The whole story is about the megapixel count and image stabilization the photograohic world. Ricoh has unveiled the new Caplio R5 as an upgrade to the old Caplio R4 that had 6.04Mpix CCD. The camera comes with a 7.0-megapixel camera that doesn’t impress me so much as we have lot of cameras in the market that boast 10-megapixel count.
Anyway, we can rely on the Caplio R5 with its stunning 7.1x optical zoom and high image quality CCD with 7.24 million pixels. The another prominent feature of the Caplio R5 is its CCD-shift vibration correction method and image processing engine that enables crisp pictures in dim lighting accompanied with low noises.
The Long-life rechargeable battery of Caplio R5 is enough to take 380shots at a time. The Caplio R5 packs all these features in a compact and eye-pleasing size of 96 mm x 55 mm x 26 mm. No words on pricing and availability until now.
