Few days back, a new digital camera from Nikon was in talks. Finally, they have officially introduced the 6.1-megapixeler D40 DSLR that features 420-pixel sensor 3D Color Matrix Metering II metering system. The Nikon D40 is stated as the most compact Nikon camera till today. The salient features of the Nikon D40 are:
• 2.5-inch 230,000-pixel LCD display
• 0.8x viewfinder magnification
• New graphical user interface
• Filter effects including D-Lighting and red-eye reduction
• Compatible with Nikon’s iTTL flash system
The Nikon D40 is capable of capturing 100 JPEG images in normal mode consecutively at the rate of 2.5 frames per second. The camera will start shipping in the first week of December in a kit including 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED II AF-S DX zoom lens for $600.
