Apparently, guys at Nikon don’t seem to have learned anything from the big CCD disappointment in the year 2005. Like Sony, officials at Nikon have accepted that the users might find some problems with its Coolpix 5400, 5000, 4500 and 3500 shooters. Do you thing they have learned anything? Nothing at all!
The reason for the CCD malfunction is said to be “CCD soldering degradation caused by aging”. That means that the heat and moisture wears down the CCD. Now, Nikon is offering the only solution they have; free CCD replacements for sufferers.
The problem could arise in form of atypical colors, hazy images or even no images. Nikon must do something as soon as possible since the market is hot and tough too.
