Canon has taken all of us by surprise by announcing its new HV20 camcorder that comes with a high-definition 10x Canon optical zoom video lens while we were anticipating it for next month.
The new camcorder can record 1080 high-def video images in 16:9 formats. Though the camcorder doesn’t boasts any integrated hard drive, it does saves footage to miniDV tapes.

Canon’s inventive Super-Range OIS makes use of gyro and image sensors to take care of image stabilization. Moreover, you can set the camcorder’s frame rate to 24p, which provides the same frame rate as movie film. The high-def HV20 is expected to come in summer for around $1200.
