Brace yourself! Canon’s new EOS 40D SLR camera is on its way. This is a new addition to the illustrious family of Canon’s SLR cameras – the 30D, 400D, etc.
Apparently, this camera would incorporate a 10.1 MP CMOS sensor and a 2.5 inch LCD. For dust-free photography, it would feature an anti-dust lens. Additionally, like its predecessors it would incorporate a Digic II processor for precision photgraphy.
The company is however worried that this report would affect the sales of its popular 30D. And the report that the camera would be out in September has been dismissed by Canon as just a wild speculation. Speculation or no speculation, photography buffs would certainly look forward to the new 40D priced at (again a speculation!!!) $1300. And if you ask where the pic has come from, all we can say is it is just a figment of imagination. Whatever be the case, sit tight ‘coz the 40D is certainly on its way, sooner or later.

I can see that the Canon 40D has more value compare to Canon 5D because of the price expensive, but it has one advantage. The sensor is physically larger, the same size as a frame of 35mm film. This is an advantage for things like portraits because of depth of field issues and for wider angle shots, because of the wider field of view. Similar lens on a 5D will give you a wider view over 40D.
