The Yin-Yang Camera: an Innovative and Unusual Design

March 21, 2012 Posted by admin

Harmony of opposite

Photography and creative design have always gone hand in hand. As a result some of the most innovative concepts have taken on real lives in the field of photography and, of course, camera design. The innovative Yin Yang concept camera takes this heritage to the next level by blending the Eastern philosophical idea of harmonious opposites with cutting edge digital photography technology. I find it to be part left brain right brain test.

Functional and aesthetic

Designer Kubasek Krzysztof uses the traditional Chinese symbols for male and female energy in this unique circular camera. This concept camera looks like a circle, but is actually made up of two halves, one dark colored, the other light colored, each shaped like a teardrop. These two halves fit together perfectly to form the circular design. One half contains the data storage system and a USB interface to transfer the images, while the other half houses the LCD display and the actual camera, the lens and the sensor. The built-in USB jack eliminates the need for cables or other accessories to connect your camera to the computer. Just plug it in and read the data off the camera memory.

Choosing a digital camcorder that best suits your needs

Digital images play an essential part of the people’s everyday life as technology continues to develop and help human needs. Storing memories is now a lot easier and more enjoyable to do. Digital images can be saved in various file formats, like mp3, jpeg or pdf adobe format. If you are planning to buy digital camera recorders to record the special events in your life, the numerous models and marketing features can make this a daunting task. Here are some points to consider:

Understanding record format

These recording formats are the medium to store images and videos and there are three main formats to choose from:

1. DVD: This format is the choice of people seeking simplicity and avoiding too much hassle. Camcorders that record to DVD usually use either DVD+R or DVD-R and they are applicable for one time use only. But no worries, as camcorders with DVD-RW and DVD+RW formats are also available, that are reusable and rewritable.

2. HARD DRIVE: Camcorders that record straight to hard drive disk are now becoming popular. If your camcorder has an 80GB hard drive, it can record up to 18 hours of footage to a memory card. A memory card is similar to a hard drive, you only have to choose the size of the card or the capacity you need.

3. MINI DV: This format allows you to edit your video on your computer and is very versatile and won’t cost more than the budget you allotted.

Lens

When it comes to lenses there are only two options: plastic or glass. Although both choices give good results , the glass lens actually provide the best results, though they are more expensive. Plastic lens receive less light than glass, which is not an optimal choice for camera lenses.

Battery life

While buying camcorders, people go gaga over those with longer battery life. However, it is always better and more convenient to but an extra battery instead of depending on only one. Also, try to bring extra charger for your recorder. Settling in one battery might bring you a hassle while recording video in case your camera suddenly shuts down.

The higher level of functions and features of each camera recorder will result into a higher quality of pictures and videos, but will lead to higher price also. Since there are so many products out there in the market, more careful considerations should also be taken before purchasing a camcorder.
